My Fortified Creed

My Foundation

Today I remember who I am.

I am a son of the living God through Jesus Christ.

I have been redeemed by grace, forgiven completely, adopted into God’s family, and made new.

I am not defined by my past, my accomplishments, my failures, my career, my possessions, my body, or the opinions of others.

Christ is my identity.

The Holy Spirit lives within me, guiding, convicting, strengthening, and transforming me.

I do not fight for acceptance.

I live from acceptance.

I have nothing to prove because Jesus has already declared my worth.

Today I choose to glorify God in everything I think, say, and do.

My Mind

God has entrusted me with a mind to learn.

I will remain teachable.

Every person I meet knows something I do not.

Every challenge carries a lesson.

Every hardship is an opportunity for God to shape my character.

I reject arrogance.

I reject the need to be the smartest man in the room.

Confidence comes from knowing who I am in Christ.

Humility comes from remembering that every ability, every opportunity, and every success is a gift from God.

I will listen before speaking.

Seek understanding before being understood.

Receive correction without defensiveness.

Celebrate others without comparison.

I would rather grow in wisdom than appear intelligent.

My Responsibility

God has entrusted me with stewardship.

Therefore I embrace complete ownership.

I own my attitude.

I own my effort.

I own my choices.

I own my responses.

I own my leadership.

I refuse excuses.

I refuse blame.

I refuse victimhood.

When something goes wrong, I will first ask:

“What is my responsibility?”

I cannot control every circumstance.

But I can always control my response.

Ownership is not condemnation.

Ownership is freedom.

Because what I own, I can improve.

My Character

Jesus did not come to be served.

He came to serve.

Therefore I will lead by serving.

I will pursue excellence without demanding recognition.

I will work hard even when no one notices.

I will keep my word.

I will be dependable.

I will tell the truth.

I will choose integrity when compromise would be easier.

Success without character is failure.

Faithfulness is greater than fame.

Obedience is greater than applause.

My Relationships

Every person I meet bears the image of God.

No one is an interruption.

People are my ministry.

The mercy God extended to me this morning is the mercy I will extend today.

I refuse to keep score.

I choose patience over irritation.

Grace over revenge.

Listening over assumptions.

Truth spoken in love over winning arguments.

Before I speak, I will ask:

Is it true?

Is it necessary?

Is it loving?

Will it honor Christ?

My goal is not to win.

My goal is to love well.

My Home

My home is my first ministry.

Whether I live alone, with a spouse, with children, or among family and friends, I will make my home a place where Christ is honored.

When conflict comes, I will first examine my own heart.

When I become angry, I will ask:

Was God dishonored…

or was my pride wounded?

Am I defending truth…

or defending myself?

Most offenses against me deserve grace.

Only offenses against God’s truth require righteous courage — and even then, they require gentleness, wisdom, and love.

I will apologize quickly.

Forgive freely.

Encourage often.

Lead consistently.

Love sacrificially.

Those closest to me do not need a perfect man.

They need a humble man who continually points them toward Christ.

My Body

My body is a gift from God.

It is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

It is not an idol to worship.

Nor is it something to neglect.

It has been entrusted to me as a tool for His purposes.

I will strengthen it with discipline.

I will nourish it with wisdom.

I will rest it with gratitude.

I will reject laziness.

I will reject gluttony.

I will reject neglect.

I will choose habits that prepare me for a lifetime of faithful service.

My goal is not appearance.

My goal is stewardship.

May my body remain capable of serving my family, my church, my community, and the Kingdom of God for as many years as the Lord grants me.

My Work

Whatever God has entrusted to me today —

whether at home, at work, in my church, or in my community —

I will do it wholeheartedly, as unto the Lord.

Every task is an opportunity to worship.

Every conversation is an opportunity to reflect Christ.

Every responsibility is a trust from God.

I will pursue excellence without seeking recognition.

I will choose integrity over convenience.

I will leave every place better than I found it.

I will encourage those around me.

I will faithfully steward every opportunity God places before me.

My Mission

God has entrusted me with:

A mind to learn.

Hands to serve.

A body to steward.

A home to lead.

Relationships to strengthen.

Responsibilities to faithfully carry.

Gifts to wisely steward.

The Gospel to proclaim.

None of these belong to me.

They are gifts entrusted to my care.

I will use them for His glory.

Not mine.

If no one remembers my name,

but someone remembers Jesus because of the way I lived,

then I have lived well.

My Daily Charge

Today I control three things:

My attitude.

My effort.

My obedience to Christ.

Everything else belongs to God.

So today I choose:

Faith over fear.

Discipline over comfort.

Service over status.

Humility over pride.

Ownership over excuses.

Mercy over judgment.

Truth over convenience.

Love over selfishness.

Today I will become a little more like Jesus than I was yesterday.

By God’s grace.

For God’s glory.

Alone.

Go now.

Walk humbly with your God.

Lead courageously.

Serve faithfully.

Love generously.

Strengthen your body.

Guard your mind.

Extend mercy.

Take ownership.

Glorify Christ in everything you do.

This day belongs to the Lord.
